International Grants
In 2004 the Madison Rotary Foundation
awarded $26,388 to International projects supporting medical,
educational, and human-need projects in foreign countries, often
involving coordination with agencies of the Greater Madison
area.
The application process for International Service
Grants is similar to the Community Grants process and is reviewed by the
Madison Rotary Foundation International Projects Committee. Application
deadline is early December and grants are awarded in March of the
following year. If you wish to obtain an application please contact the
Rotary Club of Madison, but before doing so, please read the following
guidelines.
Guidelines for International Grants
Applications for grants shall be in writing on the
Madison Rotary Foundation’s International Grant Form.
Funded projects should be directed at assisting people of countries less developed than those of Western Europe and the United States. Initial funding should be for one year with a maximum of three years in most circumstances. Where appropriate, the Committee should identify other
funds to support the project. The Committee may also seek other funds to support the project. Projects funded by this Club should have a close Rotary association, such as: a Club member or significant supporter of Rotary is a participant; a strong relationship to the Madison community; a special
interest of Rotary International; and/or an alliance with other local Rotary clubs or service clubs. Application forms are available beginning October 1 with a deadline expected to be early December with award announcements in March of the next year. Click to
