Club Awards
Senior Service Award
The Senior Service Award honors individuals, age 65 or older or retired, who
have given large amounts of civic or social service to the community. Since
1975, the club has presented nearly 380 awards to individuals who encourage
and foster the ideal of Service Above Self as a worthy enterprise. Our club
recognizes on average one individual per month with this award. Click to download:

Joseph G. Werner Meritorious Service Award
The Rotary Club of Madison’s Joseph G. Werner Meritorious Service Award, its
highest recognition, is granted for outstanding club service in the Rotary
tradition of Service Above Self as exemplified so well by the life of the
late Joseph Werner.
Manfred E. Swarsensky Humanitarian Service Award
The Manfred E. Swarsensky Humanitarian Service Award was established in 1982
and identifies and honors individuals who have, through their voluntary
efforts, made a particularly outstanding contribution to humanitarian
service in the greater Madison community, in the tradition so well
exemplified by the life of Rabbi Swarsensky. Click to download Nomination form.
Each
year the Rotary Club of Madison presents to a member of the community this prestigious award in
remembrance of former club member Rabbi Swarsensky.
The awardee is then asked to name a charity to which the Rotary Club of
Madison then donates $2,500.
Rotary Club of Madison Service Awards
This award recognition began in July of 2005 and recognizes up to six members
per year for their efforts on behalf of our Rotary club in one of these four
avenues of service – with no more than three recognitions within one avenue.
This recognition system replaces the former Paul Harris Fellow recognition.
Award recipients are recommended annually by the club’s Member Recognition
Committee with approval by the Club Board of Directors. Recipients receive a
certificate and lapel pin, denoting the type of Avenue of Service Award.
A monetary gift of $200 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is
made in the recipient’s name, to go toward a Paul Harris Fellow recognition. |
